UPSC




Unison Public service commission is a board who conducts UPSC CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION every year.

Exam has 2 stages:-

Preliminary &

Main 


Preliminary ---

2 papers

One is GS -1/  100 questions×2=200 Marks/0.66 negative mark for one wrong

Another is GS-2(CSAT)/80 questions ×2.5 =200 marks/0.83 negative mark for one wrong

Paper 2 is qualifying nature ,33% marks need to qualify


Main:------

9 papers


1:- Paper A- Compulsory Indian Language-3 hrs-300 marks

2:- Paper  B- English-3 hrs-300marks

1 & 2 are qualifying paper with 25% or 75 marks.

Paper A is not compulsory for candidates from Meghalaya, Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Manipur, and Nagaland and for those with hearing impairment. But  these candidates must prove they have been exempted from 2nd or 3rd language  by their university or boards


3:-Essay -3 hrs- 250 Marks

4:-GS 1(Indian heritage, history, geography, culture)-3 hrs-250 marks

5:-GS 2(Governance,cost, justice, International relation)-3hrs-250 marks

6:-GS 3(Technology,Bio diversity, Economic development, Environment, Disaster management)-3 hrs-250 marks

7:-GS 4(Ethics,integrity, Aptitude)-3 hrs-250 marks


8:- Optional I

9:-Optional  II

Optional Subjects:--

Mechanical Engineering /Medical Science Philosophy /Physics /Political Science and International Relations

Civil Engineering /Commerce and Accountancy Economics/Electrical Engineering /Geography

Psychology /Public Administration /Sociology Statistics /Zoology

Agriculture Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science /Anthropology/ Botany/ Chemistry/Geology/History/ Law


For Paper 3/4/5/6/7/8/9 ,Marks will be counted for final merit lists
